Why do I need this medicine?
Salbutamol and Ipratropium bromide is used to treat lung airflow disorder.

This medicine helps relax the airways in your lungs to relieve chest tightness, wheezing and cough.
How do I use this medicine?
Use Salbutamol+Ipratropium bromide exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

This medicine is available as an inhaler or as a nebulising solution. The nebulising solution is to be used with a machine known as a nebuliser.

Make sure you know how to use the device or machine. If you have problems or if you do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how to use it.

Avoid contact of this medicine with your eyes.

Salbutamol+Ipratropium bromide must be used regularly for it to be effective. Continue using this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
Use the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
When should I not use this medicine?
Do not use this medicine if you ever had an allergic reaction (rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to Salbutamol, Ipratropium bromide or atropine.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
  • heart disease such as heart failure, high blood pressure, heart attack
  • diabetes
  • thyroid disease
  • prostate enlargement
  • phaeochromocytoma (a tumour of the adrenal gland)
  • glaucoma (an increased pressure in the eye)
  • cystic fibrosis (a disease that causes thick, sticky mucus build up in the lungs)
  • difficulty urinating
  • epilepsy (fits or seizures)
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are using a nebuliser mask, make sure that it fits well on your face. Avoid the nebulising solution or the mist of this medicine to be in contact with your eyes. If the solution gets into your eyes and you experience any problems with your eyesight such as pain, discomfort, blurred or abnormal vision, alert your doctor immediately.

For as long as you are using this medicine, you may need to have regular lung function tests and weight monitoring to check your body's response to the medicine. Your doctor will advise you on how often you need to have these tests.
What side effects could I experience?
Salbutamol+Ipratropium bromide may cause dizziness and some problems with your eyesight. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert or need to see clearly.

This medicine may cause any of the following side effects: cough, sore throat, dry mouth, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, nausea, vomiting and shortness of breath.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience any other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:
  • other medicines for asthma e.g. theophylline
  • medicines for heart disease e.g. digoxin, metoprolol, atenolol, propranolol
  • medicines for depression e.g. fluoxetine, clomipramine, isocarboxacid, phenelzine
This list does not include all medicines that may interact with Salbutamol+Ipratropium bromide.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Avoid alcohol.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Protect from light or heat.

Do not allow to freeze. If frozen, this medicine will become ineffective and should not be used.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
